Daphne Search and Rescue proudly operates a new 28-foot Scully boat named “Impact,” a vital addition to their fleet that significantly enhances their search and rescue capabilities. This vessel represents a notable collaboration between DSAR and Impact 100, an all-women’s philanthropic organization dedicated to making a difference in the community. “Impact” is equipped with an enclosed cabin for operations in all weather conditions, and it also has a hydraulic gantry system that supports and deploys advanced sonar equipment. This technology allows the team to efficiently scan and identify underwater objects with incredible precision, even in zero visibility conditions.

The acquisition of “Impact” wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of Impact 100. This partnership began in 2015 when Impact 100 awarded DSAR a grant to purchase their first sonar system, which proved instrumental in forming their Advanced Sonar Team. Recognizing the ongoing needs of the DSAR and the profound impact of their work, Impact 100 once again stepped up to provide crucial funding for this new vessel. The boat’s name, “Impact,” serves as a lasting tribute to the shared commitment to serving the community and “Bringing Home the Lost.”
