Daphne Search & Rescue
Daphne Search and Rescue (DSAR) is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to providing critical search and rescue services in and around Baldwin County, Alabama. Founded in 1974, our team is comprised of highly trained individuals who are passionate about serving their community and bringing hope to those in need. We operate 24/7, 365 days a year, responding to calls for assistance on land and water, regardless of the conditions.
Our primary area of responsibility encompasses approximately 300 square miles of challenging terrain, including the Mobile Bay, the intricate Five Rivers Delta system, and the Eastern Shore. Over the years, DSAR has assisted in numerous high-profile incidents, such as the Amtrak train derailment and the Dauphin Island Regatta tragedy, demonstrating our commitment to answering the call whenever and wherever we are needed.
As a non-profit organization, we rely on the generosity of our community to sustain our operations. Donations enable us to acquire and maintain essential equipment, including our specialized boats, advanced sonar technology, and land-based search tools. They also fund vital training programs that keep our volunteers at the forefront of search and rescue techniques. We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support that allows us to fulfill our mission of “Bringing Home the Lost.”
